Arsenal reach Champions League quarter-finals with 2-0 win over Bayern Munich

Gunners overturn first-leg deficit with dominant display at Emirates Stadium

Katie McCabe and Vivianne Miedema on target as Arsenal reach last eight

Arsenal are through to the quarter-finals of the Women's Champions League after a 2-0 win over Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Gunners overturned a 1-0 first-leg deficit with a dominant display in front of a crowd of over 20,000 fans.

Katie McCabe fired Arsenal into the lead in the 17th minute, before Vivianne Miedema doubled the advantage just before half-time.

Bayern Munich pushed for a goal in the second half, but Arsenal held firm to secure their place in the last eight.

It was a deserved victory for Arsenal, who were the better team on the night.

They created more chances and dominated possession for large periods of the game.

Bayern Munich will be disappointed to go out of the competition at this stage, but Arsenal were simply too strong on the night.

The Gunners will now face either Barcelona or Roma in the quarter-finals.

The first leg of that tie will be played on March 31, with the second leg taking place on April 7.
